I got rid of my subscription also for the same reason! I also liked DR. Nick and Bobby bennet .. soul town is not at all what soul street was, I was very unhappy with the merger. I hope Leigh is some place where her talent is appreciated.

Minturn wrote back, "Dear Ted, I am confused about the tone of this e-mail." She said she had not previously been given the specifics and in any case did not handle contracts—that was a task Morrissey took care of. (Genoways says Minturn was trained in executing contracts.) In his e-mailed reply, he asked Minturn again to sort out the details for Rosen by calling Morrissey if she needed to. And he wrote:

As for the tone of the last e-mail and this one, I would describe it as officious. It is not my preferred mode of communication; in fact, I hate it.

But after what I've been hearing from HR this week—the word that the staff has threatened to quit en masse—my collegiality is a little threadbare.

Gosh--wonder if THAT article was ever written or will ever run.

I am also in the same situation and our copy of the book is already here. In my case, the professor didn't send the request to me directly, but I got an email from Daniel King forwarding his exchange with the professor in which she said she'd be happy to recommend that the library purchase the book.

I copy the email below (with the prof's name removed) I notice that Daniel King was claiming to know her from Columbia (the prof's previous institution.)

Dear Professor,

I'm not sure whether or not you will remember me, but we met quite a few years ago at Columbia. Since moving back to Australia, I've been concentrating on writing magical realist/science fiction; and I'm pleased to be able to say that my first collection of stories, which won top prize in the well-regarded "IPPicks" competition last year, has just been published by IP. It's a big ask, but would it be possible for you to order a copy for the university's library? I need the collection to be a financial success if IP is to consider any more of my manuscripts! I agree with all the comments, I too miss Leigh and the other on air personalities of Soul Street. As a long time subscriber I am not totally satisfied with how the new reign is doing things. With XM Radio I could use my subscription to listen online at night without charge now they want you to pay. Why can't I avail myself of the service when I'm not in my car free? "Greed will kill the golden goose". I know I am somewhat late with this but I only found this today. I hope Leigh, Bobby and Nick land on their feet and I hope to her them on the Radio in the future.

The world will always have bullies because bullies beget bullies. Bullies are usually boys/men with serious anger problems. Bullies should be dealt with as early as possible so none of us has to deal with them. EVERYONE who hates bullies should speak up, stand up and walk if necessary. Unfortunately this can still happen in union environments. Anybody who says or does nothing to stop a bully is an accomplice in my view.

Hi Deborah,

It means that "anonymous in Earlysville" arrived to my site from Collin's page. I know Collin linked to my site in his recent post, so "Earlysville" was reading Collin's post and then clicked on the link and came to my site. Early the Fourth then read many of the TG-related posts. In all, it looks like he spent about 5 minutes on the site.
